Shelly M. Houser, the creator of the NAVIGATE method and author of NAVIGATE the Net, has over 20 years' experience in the travel industry. Ms. Houser is the owner of Travel Career Options, a company that has published the Internet Address Book for Travel Professionals and specializes in providing customized training for travel industry professionals. The Internet Address Book for Travel Professionals, a timesaving reference tool that lists and organizes over 1,500 travel-related Web addresses, was first released in the fall of 1999.
In addition to managing the operations of Travel Career Options, Shelly is an instructor for Anoka-Hennepin Technical College in Minnesota, teaching entry-level and continuing education courses for travel professionals. Anoka-Hennepin Technical College is licensed by the Institute of Certified Travel Agents (ICTA), and is a member of the American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA). Shelly has also been called upon to consult with other travel schools throughout the United States to help them to integrate the Internet into their travel programs. She is often invited to give workshops, seminars, and presentations for various travel industry functions. Shelly M. Houser is an active member of IOTA, ASTA and the Minnesota Executive Women in Tourism, an affiliate club of the International Federation of Women's Travel Organizations (IFWTO).
