A unique resource for board review and a reference for all dental hygiene courses.

The only review text in “flash card” format, this guide focuses on the essential “must know” information related to the concepts, theory, and content of dental hygiene. Content is organized according to the National Dental Hygiene Board Examination specifications and will help both those preparing for the exam and those who want either a refresher or preliminary overview of dental hygiene topics.

  • “Flash card” format—Presents “flash facts” in table format—with key concept, subconcept, and learning hint where appropriate.
    • This easy-to-read, “sound-byte” format better addresses the learning styles of today's students. This format is not overwhelming, it's easy to follow, and covers dental hygiene in a nutshell.

  • Organized from examination specifications—Format follows the National Dental Hygiene Board Examination specifications from the American Dental Association Testing Division—e.g., Scientific Basis for Dental Hygiene Practice, Provision of Clinical Dental Hygiene Services, and Community Health/Research Principles.
    • Encourages students to review material in the same format the national boards are given.

  • Learning Hints—Throughout, with examples.
    • Gives students easy-to-read tips that will help them better retain essential concepts.
